Over the recent weekend from February 11th to 12th, Bangkok Immanuel Church held a graceful retreat where participants meditated on the deep love of God towards them while also being challenged to love and feed the sheep that God entrusted to them.
During the two days’ retreat that was held in Samut Songkhram Province, members reflected on the deep love of God revealed to them through Bible lectures on Genesis 1, Luke 15 and John 21.
They were reminded of how God created everything in the world just for them, and how they ought to remain in Christ in order to mature in love as the image of God that they were created to be. Though they may have turned their back on God countless times, yet God kept waiting for their return and hope to share all of His creation of them. Ultimately, they were challenged to respond to God’s love by sharing His compassion for the lost sheep and feeding them just as how they were being well fed by Him.
The members were deeply encouraged as they witnessed the Spirit of God working greatly in their midst during the time of Bible lectures, Sunday Service, sharing, prayer meeting and conversation over meals.
Reflecting on the retreat, a leader shared, “During the retreat, I was reminded to bring my weakness to love before His presence and be healed. When I am overflowing with His love, will I then be able to care for others. I repent for not having the heart as a shepherd for others. I want to comfort others just as the Lord did to me. I hope that God will heal me even when I am in the process of being a shepherd for others too.”
It is anticipated that the retreat will serve as a platform to spur each member to love God and His people across this year.
