Uniting in one heart to proclaim the joy and hope of Christmas with many who are in need, the members of Bangkok Immanuel Church were blessed with an opportunity to visit an orphanage recently that are mostly populated by orphans that are HIV+.
During the visit to the orphanage, the members came to experience the living conditions and understand the challenges of orphans with HIV+, whom many have passed on while they are still in their teens or even some who struggled to adjust with new living conditions and discrimination from the society when they left the orphanage in search of working opportunities.
Reflecting on the visit, a member shared, “I am thankful for the visit opened my eyes to see how important is the position that I am now standing. Looking at myself, I am so much blessed, and I should stand up to be God’s channel of blessing to many who are less fortunate than myself. More than the basic living support that we can provide, what these orphans really need is Christ, who is their eternal hope that could change their lifetime forever.”
Heading towards Christmas, may the church members continue to remember the precious blessing that they have received in knowing Christ, and be challenged to bring this joy of knowing the Lord to share with many out there, so that they too will gain this satisfying joy that is only found in a relationship with Christ.
